Great Battery

I needed a replacement battery for a Garmin C330 GPS. I found out the hard way that leaving the GPS on the dashboard of your car in the summer cooks the LiIon battery and shortens the life down to a few weeks instead of a few years. The symptoms of a dead backup battery are long startup times and no GPS function without being plugged into the 12V power cord. Garmin wants $100 to $200+ to "fix" the problem. I did a web search and found in Gpspassion that there is a long discussion about replacing the c320/c330 batteries. I found these here and decided to try it out. It worked out great. There are versions of the C330 that have 3 wires connected to the original battery. This is the charging cutoff sensor for Garmin batteries that have a separate PCB along side of the battery. Please read the forums to see what your options are or if you want to perform the replacement BEFORE YOU BUY THIS BATTERY. What to do with the rest? I have replaced the battery pack in a 3xAAA LED flashlight with one of these and it works great. I also replaced the NiCD battery pack in an RC transmitter with another 3 of these in series and now have a much longer run time with the TX. Recommendations for all Li-Ion Batteries Check the bottom of the page to get the most out of Li-Ion batteries. Abuse will diminish the capacity by 50% after less than 100 cycles (actually one bad cycle can kill a battery instantly). Care will preserve over 80% capacity after over 500 cycles. Over all, these are a great product and work well.
