Overall this charger is a pretty good deal. I bought it in the summer of 2008 and worked it quite hard for the next 6 months. We had accumulated over 200 NiCd cells with varying states of memory issues and this charger managed to recuperate about 75% of them. The discharge feature is unique and since each cell is treated individually so it is excellent for someone who already has a substantial collection of cells. I found it really good for bring cells with similar capacity together for applications since in a battery the weakest cell dominates the useful capacity of the series. Just put the cells into the charger and look at the lights every 10-15 minutes (during commercials for example) and you can get a rough idea about cell capacity. It uses a 12 vdc center positive 2.5 mm coaxial plug so many adapters for the cigarette lighter can be used with it. I drive very long distances regularly and having fully charged batteries for emergency flashlights is great. Frankly, this feature alone makes this charger well worth having. I charge some of our big capacity D cells before I leave for the trip and just trickle them in the car. The ability to handle AAA, AA, C, D and 9V makes it a universal charger. I keep the AAA cells in our walkie-talkies charged with this charger rather than the using the crude one that was included with the radios. As stated above I worked this charger really hard and eventually 2 channels failed. All-battery just sent me a replacement as far as I can tell with no charges to me. Just sent them an e-mail with specifics and they took care of it. My only issue with the charger is its limited capacity. When charging 10,000 mah NiMH D cells it takes forever. In summary I recommend this charger to the extent that I have decide to buy a second one so I can keep one with me when I travel and let my son have one at home to take of the families collection of cells. We have a about a dozen chargers and this one is basically the only one that get used now.
